His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam visited the Royal Guard in Riffa. Accompanying His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.

The arrival of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was greeted by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain; and His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Guard.

During the visit, His Majesty viewed a military parade and field demonstration, and was briefed by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Guard on the duties of the Royal Guard and the future plans to develop it.

His Majesty later viewed an exhibition of military weapons and armed vehicles used by the Royal Guard Assault team. The Royal Guard is a unit of the Bahrain Defence Force, the armed forces of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

His Majesty and the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain also witnessed a counter terrorism demonstration, in which His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen participated along with the Royal Guard members.
