Cooking for someone is a simple act of love that many people take for granted each day. When you cook a meal for someone, you put your heart and soul into ensuring it tastes perfect so the compliments come rolling in when they're devouring each mouthful.

But what would you do if someone was rude about the meal you'd made for them? You'd likely be disgruntled and upset, but one man was left so fuming that he decided to throw his brother's pregnant girlfriend out of his house after what she'd said about his culinary skills.

She demanded a different type of food than the one he'd made, but when she began spraying perfume around his house, he knew it was the last straw.

He took to Reddit to rant about what had happened, writing: "I (27M) live alone. My brother (21M) and his girlfriend (19F) still live with our parents as they can't afford a place of their own. His girlfriend is currently pregnant and is due in four months.

"My brother asked to bring his girlfriend for dinner in order to catch up and I said sure, why not. However, the moment she entered my house she started complaining about the smell of the steak I was making and said just the smell alone makes her nauseous and she can't eat this.

"I tried to suggest an alternative, but she was dead set on Chinese food and ended up sending my brother to the nearest mall in order to get her some. I thought that would be the end of it, but after going to the bathroom and coming back, I caught her throwing my unfinished steak into the garbage.

"I asked her what the hell she was doing and said the smell was so strong she thought she'd end up throwing up on the floor and she needed to get rid of it, and then started spraying perfume from her purse in my kitchen."

He said he was "beyond furious at this point", and then "kicked both of them out with their Chinese food."

He continued: "My brother tried to convince me to let them back and that I could make something else for the two of us and his girlfriend was pretty much sobbing at this point, but I was dead set on kicking them both out.

"However my parents ended up being mad at me for apparently causing so much distress to my brother's pregnant girlfriend.

"I told them that she literally threw away our dinner, but they said that I shouldn't have yelled at her or kicked them out as she's still just a teenager who's now getting influenced by her pregnancy hormones and that my outburst also caused problems in their relationship as she ended up sending my brother to sleep on the couch that night."

He asked whether he'd done anything wrong, and people defended the man kicking them out.

One wrote: "If they're old enough to be parents, they're old enough to act like adults."

Someone fumed: "Being pregnant doesn't excuse bad behaviour. The parents are infantilising the woman. They are going to end up with two babies in the house.

"You know how she will learn to act like an adult? By others treating her like an adult and her seeing adults acting well and dealing with the consequences when they don't."

Another raged: "Throwing the steak away wouldn't get rid of the smell anyway, and spraying perfume on top of it wouldn't mask the smell, just make it all worse.

"I had horrible morning sickness with both my pregnancies and I know how awful it can be when just the smell triggers the nausea. But throwing out the food isn't the way the deal with it. And being pregnant is no excuse for being an a**hole."
