His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah said that as Brunei's top trading partner in 2022, His Majesty welcomes Australian investments in the country's diversification efforts. His Majesty made the titah at a State Luncheon hosted by His Excellency General The Honourable David John Hurley AC DSC Retired, Governor-General of Australia in conjunction with His Majesty's State Visit. His Majesty first attended a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra. Accompanying His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.

 

The arrival of His Majesty was greeted by Matt Anderson, Director of the Australian War Memorial. His Majesty then laid a wreath at the memorial.

 

The Australian War Memorial has a Commemorative Area, museum and archive to honour the sacrifice of Australians who have died in war or on operational service and those who have served Australia in times of conflict.
