Get-Together Ceremony With Citizens And Residents As Well As Students

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam graced the Get-Together Ceremony with Students as well as Citizens and Residents of Brunei Darussalam in Australia and New Zealand. The ceremony was held at Park Hyatt Melbourne. Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by His Excellency Garry Ramlee bin Ibrahim, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Australia; Dayang Nurul Aqimah binti Abdullah Muhammad Masyadi, President of the Brunei Students' Union in Australia dan New Zealand; as well as Awang Zulfadli bin Mawardi, President of the Brunei Student Society in Melbourne.

 

His Majesty then proceeded to a High Tea Reception with student representatives as well as the signing of the Lembaran Kenangan or Commemorative Parchment.

 

The Ceremony began with the Brunei Darussalam national anthem, followed by the reading of Al-Qur'an verses by Awang Muhammad Razqan bin Haji Abdul Razak from the University of New South Wales while the translation of the verses was read by Awang Aiman Baihaqi bin Haji Rusli from the University of Queensland.

 

Doa Selamat was recited by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

 

The President of the Brunei Students' Union in Australia and New Zealand in a welcoming address, among others, expressed gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty for gracing the event, which reflects the manifestation of His Majesty's care and concern towards students, citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam in Australia and New Zealand, and included a pledge of unwavering loyalty and allegiance to His Majesty.

 

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam then proceeded to meet and greet 467 people, comprising of students, citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam who are in Australia and New Zealand. The ceremony which was also highlighted with a “Tala' al-Badru 'Alayna" tausyeh presentation, among other things, provided a golden opportunity for the citizens and residents especially those in Australia and New Zealand to meet and greet His Majesty. Following the events in Melbourne, His Majesty then travelled to Darwin to continue the State Visit.
