A mum has been left heartbroken after her daughter claimed her teacher has been bullying her - and then started changing everything about herself. The 12-year-old said her science teacher had been picking apart her appearance, accusing her of having "fat earlobes", "rabbit teeth" and "hairy legs".

Disgusted, the mum set up a meeting with the school - but they don't believe the youngster's complaints. Taking to Reddit, she said: "My daughter is 12 and in her first year of school and I thought everything was going well but slowly her attitude and how she presents herself has been changing.

"It didn't bother me because I thought she was just experimenting with new looks and finding herself now she is in high school but recently she opened up that her science teacher is bullying her. It apparently started in a biology lesson where they were looking at ear lobes and talking about differences between attached and detached earlobes.

"But when he looked at my daughter's he called her earlobes 'fat earlobes' and laughed at them. She now never wears her hair up, always down covering her ears."

After he pointed out her "large feet", she claims her daughter stopped wearing her regular school shoes and switched to small ballet pumps.

"He said her legs were hairy and now she only wears tights and asked me to help teach her to shave them," she added.

"He said her teeth were 'rabbit teeth' now she wants braces.

"She said it was all just jokes and that she called him old once in retaliation but when I asked did he laugh when she called him old she said no and that she got a lunch time detention."

Wanting to put an end to the bullying once and for all, the mum set up a meeting with the school - but they shrugged off her complaints.

She said: "They told me they haven't had any complaints like this before and her teacher has a really good reputation among students.

"They set up a welfare councillor for my daughter to help her with her behaviour as if she is the problem."

In an attempt to help her daughter further, she suggested changing schools and getting a private psychologist.

At a loss, she told Reddit users: "My daughter also doesn't want to change schools because she doesn't want to leave her friends that she followed from primary school.

"I'm going to keep complaining to the school. Hopefully in the meantime I can convince my daughter to move.

"I just feel helpless like why aren't they listening to me? I don't care if this teacher is Jesus reincarnate he can't bully a 12-year-old!"

In response, one outraged user said: "You demand a meeting with the principal and the teacher. If you get no results, you go to the school board. Move her to another class. Don't let the school step on you.

"Schools are like insurance companies. They will keep giving you the run around, hoping that you will get tired and go away.

"Keep after them until you start getting results or at least someone's attention so you can be heard and acknowledged.

"I had to call the police once to finally get the principals attention over the stupidest little issue."

Another user added: "You have to push and push and you keep pushing you take it as high as you have to.

"I had problems with a teacher when I was younger so I had my mum deal with it.

"The only way she got through to them was treating them like children. Walk all over them otherwise they will walk all over you."

A third user said: "I’m so sorry. This sounds frustrating for you. I can see that you are trying your best to help. I hope it goes well. I hope your daughter will get the help she needs to not be bullied anymore.
