President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has taken his push for unity to the next level as he ordered all government offices to adopt the "Bagong Pilipinas," a brand of governance said to be reinforced by "unified" institutions.

This developed after Malacañang released a copy of Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 24 on Sunday, July 16, 2023.

Based on the MC, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on July 3, "Bagong Pilipinas" shall be part of the National Government's branding and communications strategy.

All national government agencies (NGAs) and instrumentalities, including government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs) and state universities and colleges (SUCs), "shall be guided by the principles, strategies, and objectives, of the Bagong Pilipinas brand of governance and leadership in planning their activities and projects".

The said offices are also ordered to adopt the approved Bagong Pilipinas logo and incorporate it in their letterheads, websites, official social media accounts, and other documents about the government's flagship programs.

Based on the EO, "Bagong Pilipinas" would be the overarching theme of the administration's brand of governance and leadership, which calls for deep and fundamental transformations in all sectors of society and government.

It is also said to foster the State's commitment to achieving comprehensive policy reforms and full economic recovery.

"Towards attaining a promising future for the nation, this Administration commits to embody a brand of governance leadership that is focused on implementing an all-inclusive plan for economic and social transformation," the MC read.

"Bagong Pilipinas is characterized by a principled, accountable, and dependable government reinforced by unified institutions of society, whose common objective is to realize the goals and aspirations of every Filipino," it added.

In its attempt to revive the economy following the lingering effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Marcos administration has approved and adopted the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028, which sought to steer the economy back to a high-growth path toward building an environment that provides equal opportunities to Filipinos and equipping them with skills to participate fully in an innovative and globally competitive economy.

The administration likewise launched the 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda to enhance bureaucratic efficiency and sound fiscal management, reinvigorate job creation, and accelerate poverty reduction.

Marcos' socioeconomic agenda likewise aims to establish livable and sustainable communities, promote agriculture and ensure food security, improve access to affordable clean energy, and address gaps in education caused by the coronavirus crisis.

The administration likewise implemented the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program (4PH Program), which ensures underprivileged and homeless citizens access to adequate, safe, secure, habitable, sustainable, and affordable homes.
