​The beginning of New Hijrah 1445 was celebrated with gratitude and piety in all mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide, 18th July late afternoon. His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam graced the National Level Ilal Hijrah Celebration which took place at Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampung Kiarong. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, Yang Di-Pertua Adat Istiadat Negara;

- Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs as Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Ilal Hijrah 1445 Celebration as well as other Supreme Committee Members.

In attendance were His Majesty's sons and brother,

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;

- And His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.

The ceremony began with the TWO times reading of the End of Hijrah Year doa or supplication, led by the Minister of Religious Affairs.

21 cannon shots marked the arrival of the Hijrah New Year 1445.

The mass Fardu Maghrib prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar who also led the TWO times reading of Hijrah New Year 1445 doa.

The mass sunat hajat prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim.

Doa Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim.

The celebration was jointly conducted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications and Mosque Affairs Department. The theme of this year's Ilal Hijrah celebration is 'Ugama Dipelihara, Negara Sejahtera' or Religion Safeguarded, Prosperous Country.
