The close relations between the Monarch and the citizens is clearly evident during the Get-Together Ceremony with the Citizens and Residents in Belait District. The opportunity to meet face-to-face with His Majesty the Sultan and the Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam is a highly awaited moment.
Accompanying His Majesty were His Majesty's sons and brother;
- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office;
- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;
- And His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.
The ceremony provides an opportunity for the citizens and residents to present Royal Birthday Wishes to His Majesty. The symbol of the citizen's loyalty to the monarch is proven by the participation of all walks of life. His Majesty's presence to the ceremony reflects the closeness between the Monarch and the citizens.
The associations and non-governmental organisations, NGOs play an important role in both catalysing the economic progress of the citizens and residents. The field of education is given priority to create a generation of knowledge, skills, discipline and high prudence. Private companies, including the oil and gas sector, help enhance the quality of life of the citizens and residents. Also greeting His Majesty were personnel of the Third Battalion of the Royal Brunei Land Force in Lumut and the British Garrison in Seria.
His Majesty and the Royal Family then proceeded to the Dewan Santap for a luncheon. Doa Selamat was read by Awang Mohd Shah bin Haji Taip, Belait District Syariah Lower Court Judge.
The Get-Together Ceremony with the citizens and residents carries a deep meaning and will certainly be remembered.
