A man has been left outraged after being "duped" into giving up his aisle seat on a plane to an 'entitled passenger'. He explained how the window seat was already occupied by a man when he went to take his aisle seat, leaving just the middle seat empty.
But shortly after, a woman with a sling on her arm came over to claim her seat. He said on Reddit: "She is wincing, acting like she is in terrible pain. She stops at my row, tells me she has the middle seat, and asks if I will swap with her so she will have more room for her hurt arm. I inwardly groan, say 'sure', and move to the middle."
However, the man came to regret the swap after the woman removed her sling and started chuckling to herself about the situation. "We take off and the next thing I know, she has taken off her sling, has a smile on her face, and is moving her arm freely," he added.
"Then, she starts talking to the man at the window next to me who turns out to be her companion. They spend the rest of the flight talking across me and passing things back and forth over me." Commenting on his post, one user said: "I never swap seats. Unless upgraded to first/business. And even then I ensure the flight attendant records my new seat location. Should plane go down when they find my seat, I want them to know that it’s me in it and not some rando that I swapped with.
Another user added: "I would have asked her to switch seats since her arm was obviously fine. If she didn’t agree, I would have asked a flight attendant to intervene and shown my booked seat." A third user said: "Jail! I would have considered saying, 'You know what I changed my mind'. We can swap back or I can get the flight attendant to move you if you’d like." One more user added: "The only time I switch is first class seat for first class seat so someone can sit with a travel companion if I’m alone. No other reason ever."
