Commuters Can’t Believe Their Eyes As Pony Tries To Board The 57 Bus

UNITED KINGDOM

Passengers on a bus in Devon received a shock when a pony tried to get on board.

The bizarre incident happened in the Brixington area of Exmouth last week.

A local who lives close to a bus stop spotted the horse trying to climb aboard the local 57 Stagecoach service.

The horse was seen being guided on by two people in high vis jackets – one was seen taking pictures of the animal clambering onboard.

The baffled local said: ‘I was just parked in the carpark in Brixington and spotted it happening.

‘I didn’t hang about but a lady said it was just sticking it’s head in to say hello and then they came out and carried on its journey down the road.’

This is not the first time horses and ponies have tried to escape onto public transport, MailOnline reports.

In 2020, a runaway pony tried to ride a bus after it was spotted in the midst of vehicles on the A48 near Cardiff.

As kind members of the public climbed out to calm the animal and call for help, a single-decker passed and loaded the pony aboard to safety.

Another passing driver said: ‘We got close to the horse, and a Cardiff Bus had stopped. The police arrived and we were all a bit flummoxed about about to do, to be honest.

‘So the Cardiff Bus driver said, “Why don’t we just put it on the bus?”, and I couldn’t really see any other option.

‘We popped the accessibility ramps down on the bus and I just trotted the horse on the bus and he seemed quite happy.’

Passersby snapped a hilarious photo of the pony on board the bus as it was driven to a bus stop at a nearby hospital where it was reunited with its owner.

South Wales Police tweeted at the time that the pony was loose on the ‘mane A48’ and wanted to ‘stirrup’ a little trouble.
