From cleaning their water storage tanks to rescheduling medical appointments, business owners and households are preparing for a scheduled water cut in Klang Valley tomorrow.

Restaurants owners are getting prepared for the dry taps by taking their spare water tanks out of storage for use over the next few days. Despite the water cuts, business is not expected to drop, said the operators.

“This is because most customers are expected to dine out as they will not be cooking,” said Y Two Restaurant owner Eric Ng from Taman Equine, Seri Kembangan.Patients who need to undergo dialysis treatment were told to reschedule their appointments.

According to Air Selangor, a scheduled water cut will take place in parts of Petaling, Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Langat due to asset upgrading and maintenance works at the Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant.

The upgrading works will take place from 9am to 7pm tomorrow. Air Selangor had said that the water supply would be resumed gradually, adding that it would be fully restored by noon on Thursday.

The duration of the water cut and restoration depends on the area of the consumer’s location, water pressure and distribution of the water system.

Air Selangor will be mobilising water tankers to the affected areas by prioritising critical facilities such as hospitals, dialysis centres and funerals.

Water for commercial use can be purchased by contacting Air Selangor at any customer service centre.

Commercial clients can use their own tankers to fetch water from two water filling stations in Sunway Batu Caves and Selayang Mutiara.
