Only 41 days until Christmas!
Rustan’s, the luxury specialty retailer, announces the launch of its 2016 holiday, “Most Wonderful Time at Rustan’s.” Famed for its lavish and opulent display windows that transform Ayala Avenue as a tableau straight out of a Christmas fairytale, this year, the idea of Christmas is celebrated through a nostalgic display of Old World magic, inspired by Cirque de Soleil and brought to life by giant snowflakes, dainty ballerinas atop elephants draped in patchwork throws, stick men in rich velvet, and crystal horses.
Bienvenido “Donnie” Tantoco III of Rustan’s says, “Especially in this day and age of turbulence, upheaval, and conflicts, we need a time like Christmas to celebrate the good in the world that we tend to overlook – like family, friends, and God. Christmas is a time to reconnect with the virtues, values, and things that we hold dear in the world that builds goodwill, that unites rather than polarizes us.”
At the annual launch to kick off Rustan’s Christmas celebrations, crooner Jose Mari Chan sang his medley of notable Christmas songs, among them the classic “Christmas in our Hearts,” and a new song “Christmas Memories” with his children Lisa, Franco, and Michael.
Tantoco adds, “It is in this spirit that Rustan’s has always expressed Christmas for now over 64 years. When you come to our store, we want to be one of the happiest places in your life for you to detach from a frenetic world; and feel from within you the spirit of Christmas. This is perhaps why our CEO and our team push themselves harder every year to present the most artistic and emotionally uplifting Christmas shops that their great imagination, their creative hands, and their great skill can produce. We want [our customers] to feel Christmas in different ways: Traditional, playful, whimsical, and spiritual way as you journey through our store. And we want you to be able to bring that spirit and that experience to your homes so that you can share it with your loved ones.”
