​His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam joined the 'HM The Sultan's 77th Birthday Ride' in conjunction with His Majesty's 77th birthday celebration. Organised by the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club for the third time, the event began at the Jerudong Park Polo and Riding Club, and ended at the The Empire Brunei.

Upon arrival, His Majesty as the Royal Patron of the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club was greeted by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja Retired Major General Pengiran Haji Ibnu Basith bin Pengiran Datu Penghulu Pengiran Haji Apong, Chairman of the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club. Shortly after arriving, His Majesty received a Pasambah.

'HM The Sultan's 77th Birthday Ride' began at Field One of the Jerudong Park Polo and Riding Club, heading towards Jerudong beach.

Also present were His Majesty's son, brother and daughter:

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah;

- And Her Royal Highness Princess Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah, President of the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club.

The ride also passed by the Jerudong Beach Market area. Veteran polo players of the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club also joined the event.

His Majesty then proceeded to ride an all-terrain vehicle, ATV to The Empire Brunei.

Also present were His Majesty's sons, brothers and daughters:

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;

- His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah;

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah;

- And Her Royal Highness Princess Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah.

His Majesty then attended a Breakfast.

The presence of the Monarch at the event encouraged the people to do physical activities towards a healthy lifestyle.
