A Malaysian man was sentenced to a $13,500 fine or 13 months imprisonment in default, for an offence under Section 146 (1) D of the Excise Order 2006.

Hirizan Bin Molsedi, 34, pleaded guilty to possessing 13 cartons, 4 packs and 1 stick of cigarettes of various brands in a vehicle in the shop area of Kampong Rataie, Temburong on 28th of November. All the items involved were confiscated to be destroyed, while the cash money from the sale of cigarettes amounting to $230 was handed over to the Government.
