​63 students have been accepted into the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Qur'an Institute this year, to undergo studies at the secondary level. The ceremony for the admission of the institute's new students took place on 20th January morning.

Awang Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Religion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in his speech urged the students to balance Memorisation of Al-Qur'an with Academic subjects as well as other skills. The function ran concurrently with the presentation of Mushaf Al-Qur'an, followed by a pledge reading. Prior to this, the new students participated in an Orientation Week for 6 days from the 8th of January.
