The public is reminded not to fall prey to fraud following the rampant online phishing.
The Royal Brunei Police Force in its media release informed that the fraud lured gullible individuals to obtain personal information by giving unknown offers. For this particular scam, The Royal Brunei Police Force emphasized that the government will not offer any assistance to the public through social media.
Thus, the public is advised to take precautions by NOT disclosing any banking information to any unknown party; avoid opening any suspicious links in any social media application, and check and ensure the advertised offer is from the relevant department or agency.
