​The number of civil and commercial cases filed in the Court of Appeal, High Court, Intermediate Court and Magistrate Court continues to show an increase since 2022 after the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Based on statistics recorded by the High Court, 21 civil appeal cases were recorded at the Court of Appeal in 2023, compared to 13 cases in 2022. While 12 criminal appeal cases were brought before the Court of Appeal last year compared to 11 cases the previous year. Civil cases filed in the High Court have INCREASED from 62 cases in 2022 to 64 cases in 2023. While criminal cases filed in 2022 and 2023 each recorded 14 cases. 1 civil appeal case was filed from the Magistrate Court to the High Court last year, compared to 2 cases in 2022. While 19 criminal appeal cases were recorded until last year from the Magistrate Court to the High Court compared to 30 cases in 2022.

 

Civil cases filed in the Intermediate Court increased from 58 cases in 2022 to 73 cases last year. Criminal cases decreased by 58 cases last year compared to 69 cases in 2022. Commercial cases increased from 83 cases in 2023 compared to 80 cases in 2022. The Magistrate's Court filed 978 civil cases in 2023 compared to 826 in 2022. Criminal cases recorded 1,476 last year compared to 1,411 cases in 2022.

 

Bankruptcy notices recorded a decrease from 348 in 2022 to 344 in 2023. 316 Acceptance Orders were also made last year and 129 Sentencing Orders were filed at the same year. In addition, 1 thousand and 65 online cases have been conducted in 2023, namely 308 cases in the High Court, 349 cases in the Intermediate Court and 400 cases in the Magistrate's Court.

 

Last year, the Court's total revenue was over 2 million 900 thousand Dollras, compared to over $3,200,000 in 2022.
