​The Department of Islamic Studies, Ministry of Religious Affairs organized the Semarak National Day Celebration in conjunction with the 40th Brunei Darussalam National Day celebration. The ceremony was held on 29th February morning, at the Arabic Preparatory School in Bandar Seri Begawan.

Present was Awang Haji Shamshol bin Haji Omar, Director of Islamic Studies. The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat. The ceremony included the History Talk: "Perlembagaan Negara Brunei Darussalam 1959", delivered by Doctor Haji Muhammad Hadi bin Muhammad Melayong, Head of the Brunei History Centre to commemorate the proclamation date of Brunei Darussalam Constitution. Also held was a performance of the Patriotic Song "Berkibarlah Bendera".
