It looks like these sisters should keep not only their bananas but their eyes peeled for photobombing gorillas keen to tuck in too.

Motaba, the western lowland silverback gorilla, appeared tempted by the bananas brandished by zoo-visiting sisters Ella O’Brien, six, and her four-year-old sibling Bridget.

The pair posed in front of Motaba at Werribee Open Range Zoo in Melbourne, Australia.

Motaba moved there from Melbourne Zoo in 2011 and last December celebrated his 29th birthday.

He lives in a 6,000sq m zone alongside his two sons, Yakini and Ganyeka, enjoying facilities including large climbing poles and a wading pool.

Zookeepers have just launched a series of opportunities to get up close and personal with the three animals, in what they are calling their ‘Go Bananas With Gorillas’ season.
