The 'devastated' man was exposed by his wife on Facebook after he accidentally removed one too many ingredients from the burger he was ordering from McDonald's
One man's excitement over a highly anticpated McDonald's order soon fizzled out when it turned up at his door.
For most people ordering takeout is a pretty simple process, they simply select the item they fancy chowing down on, pay for their meal, and then sit back and relax, waiting for it to arrive.
However, if you're a bit more picky about what you are willing to eat, you have to make alterations to your order and hope for the best that the message is understood loud and clear in the restaurant kitchen. For one man, his unconventional McDonald's order left people online in total hysterics.
The picky eater's wife explained, back in 2020, that he was trying to remove the salad from the chicken burger he was ordering from Uber Eats. But he ended up accidentally removing almost everything else, with the only ingredient remaining being ketchup.
The woman posted a picture of her husband posing with his disappointing delivery on Facebook while she tucked into her own, fully equipped, meal.
She wrote: "My husband just ordered McDonald's from Uber Eats. He unticked all the salad options because he doesn't like it, without realising he unticked the bread bun and chicken too...."
But this meant that he'd paid full price for a chicken burger which consisted of just ketchup. She added: "So this is his chicken burger that turned up and he paid £3+ for and £4 delivery."
Since being posted, it has received more than 8,000 likes in the group and 1,600 comments from members.
One wrote: "This made my day!" Another added: "Honestly this happens to me so often because I'm an only meat and cheese person hahahaha."
A third joked: "He looks fuming. Hilarious." Another commented: "I'm more shocked that they sent this out. They deffo knew it was a mistake bet they had a proper laugh at him hahaha."
And: "His little face!? Pure devastated!!" wrote a fifth.
But a few eagle-eyed McDonald's fans in the group were quick to point out what they saw as a hole in the story: that chicken burgers don't come with ketchup, which prompted Drew to explain that Lewis adds ketchup as an extra and removes the mayonnaise as he doesn't like it - mystery solved.
A verison of this story was first published on 7 November 2020.
