MoE Donate Cash to Fire Victims

The Department of Schools, Ministry of Education (MoE) yesterday held a donation handover ceremony for the students of Datu Ahmad Primary School and Awang Semaun Primary School at the Sungai Kebun Primary School, Cluster 2.

 


The students were victims of fire incidences in Kampong Burung Pingai Ayer and Kampong Lurong Dalam, which occurred on September 27 and October 5 this year respectively.

 


As much as $4,100 was distributed to 10 students (each receiving $410).

 


The donations were presented by Haji Mohd Sharifuddin bin Haji Mohd Salleh, Acting Senior Special Duties Officer (Corporate), the Department of Schools, MoE.

 

The donations were given to show concern and sympathy over the tragedy that has befallen the students.

 


The contributions, in the form of cash, were gathered from the Department of Schools' officers and staff members, as well as primary and secondary schools, colleges and sixth form centres in Cluster 2.
Also present yesterday were the Head of Administration Unit, Department of Schools, Nudin bin Haji Mohammad; Head of the Administration Unit and Public Relations, Department of Schools, Selamat bin Abdullah; Head of the School Infrastructure Monitoring Unit, Ismail bin Haji Tiah; officers from the Department of Schools; the principals, headmasters and teachers from the aforementioned schools involved, as well as the students' parents and guardians.
