The involvement of the public, especially those who love language, literature and culture in the creative writing contest is the best platform for local writers of all ages to participate in. The Novel Writing Competition and Semarak National Day Poetry Writing Competition fosters love and elevates the Malay language and literature. The prize presentation ceremony for the Novel Writing Competition 2021 - 2022, Semarak National Day Poetry Writing Competition, and Launching of New Books Published by the Language and Literature Bureau was held on 20th April morning, at Balai Sarmayuda, Language and Literature Bureau, Berakas.

Eight new books were launched by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Member of the Legislative Council.  The books comprise a general book; four literary books; two children's books; and a comic book.

The event was followed by the prize presentation for the Novel Writing Competition 2021 - 2022 and the Semarak National Day Poetry Writing Competition. The poetry writing contest acted as an early exposure to build self-identity and noble values in instilling a positive message, as well as a sense of love for the country, apart from efforts to elevate language and literature among children.
