Until April this year, the Language and Literature Bureau has published 29 books as a measure to empowering the culture of reading among the community in the country, especially the young generation. Most recently, the Language and Literature Bureau has published eight books by local writers, comprising of a general book; four literature books; two children's books; and a comic book.
Although presented in the form of animal stories, the children's book titled 'Perjalanan Seekor Beruk Yang Gemuk' by Awang Mohammad Faiz bin Haji Morshidi reflects the real life.
The short story collection 'Hijrahku Untuk Siapa?' by Dayang Sarah 'Aina binti Haji Abdul Rahman, tells the story of the life of a young new convert.
Public can obtain the books at the Language and Literature Bureau Bookstore for $4 to $11. So far, 137 writers have been recorded in the bibliographic information system of the Language and Literature Bureau Library.
