Members of the public are reminded that all childcare facilities must adhere to the Childcare Centres Act Chapter 218 and be officially registered under the Department of Community Development. The Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports in its press release stated that it is crucial to ensure the safety and welfare of children, as each license is closely monitored and regulated by relevant government authorities.

A complaint was received regarding a licensed childcare facility. As of 9th May, there are 74 legally registered and licensed Childcare Centres across the country under the supervision of the Department of Community Development. The list of childcare centres are available in the website, 'www.japem.gov.bn'.

Childcare Centres found to be operating without a license or in violation of their license terms may face penalties, including fines up to $5,000.00, imprisonment for a maximum of two years, or both. Individuals wishing to report any concerns regarding childcare facilities, including the safety and well-being of children, are urged to promptly notify the Department of Community Development via Talian A.N.A.K 121.
