In conjunction with International Museum Day 2024, the Museums Department through the Archaeology and Monument Division is organising the 'Pameran Manik: 1000 Tahun' or the 'Beads Exhibition: 1000 Years'. Held at the Brunei Darussalam Maritime Museum, the exhibition is the department's effort to reveal the field of archaeology especially the discovery of beaded artefacts.

The launching was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The exhibition is a continuity of the Seminar on Archaeology, Linguistic, Historical and Cultural Findings in Borneo held in 2013 in conjunction with the Se-Borneo Bead Exhibition involving the participation of museums in the Borneo Islands. The exhibition is hoped to bring a positive impact to the community and instil interest to further increase research and knowledge dissemination. The exhibition is open to the public for three days, starting on 18th May 2024.
