Verification of Accuracy Readings and Annual Registration on Weighing Machine

​The Industry and Business Ecosystem Division through the Weights and Measures Unit, SDT under the Ministry of Finance and Economy conducted a verification of accuracy readings on weighing machine brake tester on the 11th of May.

 

From the inspection, SDT found two units of brake tester weighing machine used in VIS services owned by G.H.K Motors Sdn Bhd and Jati Transport Sdn Bhd were verified as being accurate and registered in accordance to Weights and Measures Act 1983 Chapter 151, Weights and Measures Verification Regulations, 1994 under section 3(1). Traders and users of weight and measures machines are required to comply as stipulated in the Weights and Measures Verification Regulations.

 

Every person who uses or has in his possession for use of trading of any weight, measure or instrument for weighing that is not stamped as required by this regulation, if found guilty can be fined $1,000 or 3 months imprisonment or both.
