A local man was sentenced to jail for four months after he pleaded guilty to theft from a department store.

Mohammad Noorazmin bin Maidin, stole an electric drill from Sim Kim Huat Department Store at 5.10pm on October 9.

He then came back a second time later at 2.30pm on October 18 when he stole two cordless electric drills.

The defendant informed Chief Magistrate Muhammed Faisal bin Pehin dato Kefli that he stole to sell and earn some money.

The Chief Magistrate declined the defendant's plea for a fine to be imposed on him.

Prosecutor Raihan Nabilah binti Haji Ghazali prosecuted the case.
