Calamian Islands
Tropical storm keeps strength as it moves toward West Philippine Sea
Tropical storm Marce has maintained its strength as it continued to traverse the Calamian group of islands Friday evening, November 25.
Tropical cyclone warning signals have been lifted in many areas except for the following:
TCWS no. 2: Calamian group of islands
TCWS no. 1: Occidental Mindoro, northern Palawan
The tropical storm still brings moderate to heavy rainfall within its 300-km diameter.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration likewise warns residents in areas under storm signals as well those in Bicol, Aurora and Quezon to remain vigilant against possible landslides and flash floods.
Marce made its fifth landfall over the Calamian islands after hitting land four times over Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte; Abuyog, Leyte; Bantayan, Cebu; and Carles, Iloilo.
Tropical storm Marce was last spotted in the vicinity of Busuanga, Palawan. It still packs up maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kph and gusts reaching 100 kph.
It has since slowed to 17 kph while moving northwest, or toward the West Philippine Sea.
Marce (international name: Tokage) is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by late morning or afternoon of Sunday, November 27.
