Eleven mosque committeemembers, mosque affairs officers and adults, as well as and seven youths recently participated in the national level Rawi and Berzanji competition, which was organised by Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque in Kampong Jerudong and Mosque Affairs Department.

Haji Md Daud bin Haji Kadir emerged as champion in the adult category, while the youth category saw Mohd Rohaidi bin Johadi taking first place.

Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Harun bin Haji Junid presented the prizes to the winners.

The competition aimed to improve the quality of Rawi reading and Berzanji, with the exact method of Rawi reading based on correct Makhraj.

Haji Kamaruzaman bin Haji Jakar, Imam of Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque, said the achievements of the participants show that they have made progress.
