The Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (Maktab Duli) yesterday held its annual CCA Appreciation Day at the college's auditorium.

The event celebrated the co-curricular activity in Maktab Duli and awarded students for their achievements throughout the year in their extra-curricular activities. The ceremony started with the singing of the national anthem and college's song followed by the recitation of Surah AlFatihah and Doa.

Present as guest of honour was the Acting Principal of Maktab Duli, Hajah Monaliza binti Haji Abdul Halim.
In her welcoming speech, she said the event aimed to acknowledge and show appreciation to CCA clubs who were active and successful in academic and co-curricular activities throughout the year. She added that it also sought to encourage other students to improve their skills in both academic and co-curricular fields. She emphasised on the importance of developing well-rounded individuals who will contribute positively to society.

The principal also mentioned that this year, the college has participated in 22 competitions and tournaments organised by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and the Language and Literature Bureau. Maktab Duli has won 17 out of these competitions and tournaments.

She also applauded the college's role in encouraging voluntary work and community service among its students and highlighted one of the college's programmes, the `Early Childhood Classroom', also known as 'Program Bakti Pelajar'. She stressed on the benefits of voluntary work and community service as it raises the spirit of cooperation within the community. This year, 46 students from the college participated in this programme.

Those in attendance were later entertained by a variety of performances showcased by the college's CCA Clubs, followed by the awarding of certificates to the college's CCA club members.
