BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The Institute of Brunei Technical Education, Continuing Education and Training Division (IBTE CET) recently held a certificate presentation ceremony at the Lecture Theatre of IBTE CET. The training course was a collaboration project between IBTE and the Local Employment and Workforce Development Agency (APTK), under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The ceremony began with the welcoming remarks given by the Divisional Director of IBTE CET, Sumardi bin Haji Abdul Hamid. The event continued with the handing over of the certificate of achievement to the participants who have successfully completed the training course. Certificates of appreciation were also presented to the course instructors involved in the collaboration project.

The project aimed to provide participants with the relevant basic skills, knowledge and competency, in order to prepare them for future employment prior to the Brunei Job Fair 2016. A total of three training courses were offered under the project; Basic Cashier Training (33 hours), Basic Food and Beverage Services Training (14 hours), and Basic Office Skills Training (45 hours).

A total of seven participants joined Basic Cashier Training, eight participants for Basic Food and Beverage Services Training, and 19 participants for Basic Office Skills Training.

IBTE CET was established in 1958, with the vision to be the centre of excellence for non-formal and informal education and skills training. IBTE CET provides quality, innovative training and personal enrichment opportunities for the citizens as well as non-citizens of Brunei Darussalam.

Among those present at the event were instructors of the training courses, as well as officers from IBTE CET.

During the school holidays, dental services at health centres and clinics for children are open as normal.
