To enliven the Maulidur Rasul or birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) for 1438 Hijrah, the Ministry of Education (MoE) yesterday evening held a Dikir Maulud ceremony at Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong.

Leading over 100 officials from the MoE and its departments was the Minister of Education, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman.

Also present were the Deputy Minister of Education, Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar.

The event commenced with mass Maghrib prayer, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the minister and Dikir Syarafil Anam recitations. Following mass Isyak prayer, the ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat.

According to a MoE press release, the Dikir will continue every week at different mosques leading up to the Maulidur Rasul celebration.

The event served to encourage the ministry's staff to always praise the prophet.

Also taking part in the ceremony yesterday evening were the Acting Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the MoE, department heads and students from higher education institutions.

The officials will continue to hold the Dikir on Thursday evening at the Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Sungai Akar.
