Ports 'A' Emerged Champion of Yang Berhormat Minister of Communications Trophy

Ports 'A' reigned supreme in the Ministry of Communications and its departments under it Futsal Championship and collected the Yang Berhormat Minister of Communications Trophy after defeating Land Transport Department 'A' 2-0 in a nail-biting final at, the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex yesterday.

 

The guest of honour at the event was the Minister of Communications, Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, who presented the prizes to the winners.

 

The top scorer of the tournament was won by Awangku Haji Muhammad Aiman bin Pengiran Haji Mohammad of Ports 'A'.

 

Ports 'B' clinched third place at the expense of Marine Department after a smash-and-grab 2-0 victory.

 

Organised by the Department of Civil Aviation, the tournament attracted a total of 11 teams split into two groups including Ministry of Communications 'B', Department of Civil Aviation, Authority for Info-Communications Technology Industry Brunei Darussalam (AITI), Postal Services Department, Ministry of Communications 'A', Land Transport Department 'B' and Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department.

 

The tournament served as early preparations in selecting players to represent the Ministry of Communications in futsal competitions at the ministry level.
