Brunei Bag More Gold in 9th BIMP EAGA

Brunei's athletes at the 9'h BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games yesterday put up an exceptional performance to grab gold medals in the 200m athletics, pencak silat and sepak takraw events in Samarinda, East Kalimantan Timur, Indonesia.
The silat team of Nur Azimatunnaemah binti Simat, Nur Wasiqah Aziemah binti Rosihan and Qistina Athirah binti Zainal registered 451 points to win gold.
While in the final of female seni tunggal, Anisah Najihah binti Abdullah had to settle for fourth place with a score of 448, missing out on bronze by a point.
Sprinter Muhammad Noor Firdaus Ar-Rashid bin Hj Mohd Idris claimed his second gold of the outing in the 200m race. He had previously won a gold in the 100m on Thursday.
Haji Muhd Nur Zul Isamuddin bin Wan Zulaini, who won silver on Thursday in shot put, finished sixth place in the discus throw event.
In the long jump event, Mohammad Aqil Asyraf bin Sahardday Irwan came in fourth.
The final gold medal of the day came from the sepak takraw team who defeated East Kalimantan in straight sets.
After two days of competition, the Brunei contingent has four gold medals and a silver.
