The Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) School has launched a new mobile app called 'Skoolbag' as part of its effort to enhance relationship and communication between students, their families, staff and community of the school.

Present as the guest of honour to launch the mobile application yesterday at the school's multi-purpose hall was Awang Haji Brahim bin Haji Ismail, Managing Director of Yayasan.

The ceremony began with the singing of national anthem 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan' followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Pengiran Yusyeeman bin Pengiran Sulaiman.

Principal of YSHHB Secondary School Chong Li Chen in her welcoming remarks said Skoolbag is an initiative by the school management to ensure the establishment of an easy-to-access communication platform for teachers, students, parents and the public.

"The mobile app provides instant notifications for all stakeholders. It covers school events, news, e-forms, new school regulations, contact details and staff notices.

"The app is comprehensive as well as cost saving in terms of paper usage.

"It is hoped that this will improve communications between the school, students and parents.

"Parents will also be more informed and they don't have to rely on their children to get updates on school matters."

The event later saw a presentation on the introduction and demonstration of Skoolbag by YSHHB Secondary School's Senior Teacher Cikgu Hidayatallah Waqiyuddin bin Haji Mohiddin.

Among the topics he presented included the steps to download the app, features of Skoolbag, push notification and school website.

Skoolbag is now available for download by searching Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School in the Apple App Store and on Google Play for Android.

The ceremony concluded with a question-and-answer session followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Asr.

Also present during the launching ceremony were Dayang Hajah Donnaliza binti Abdullah Puasa, Assistant Managing Director of Yayasan; Awang Noorhaizamdin bin Haji Mohd Mosbi, CEO of YSHHB School; members of the senior management team, teachers, members of the Parent-Teacher Association, parents and other invited guests.
