More than 2,000 students and members of the general public converged and joined at the National Convention Centre in Vientiane Capital for the 1st Lao International ICT Expo 2016 being held from 14-18 December.

The ICT Expo was officially opened on Dec 15 by Deputy Prime Minister Bounthong Chitmany and Minister of Post and Telecommunication Mr Thansamay Kommasith.

The 1st Lao International CT Expo 2016 has drawn more than 120 exhibitors from telecommunication companies and distributors of smartphones, computers, notebooks and ICT gadgets.

The 1st Lao International CT Expo 2016 aims to provide ICT entrepreneurs an opportunity to present their products, services and ICT innovations, and promote the exchange of information and experience in ICT, according to the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Mr Thansamay Kommasith.

A concert featuring Lao and foreign artists was also held as a side line event along with an ICT expert competition, and sale of discounted ICT products from Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore and Thailand.
