KUCHING, MALAYSIA
Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak arrived here at 10.35pm yesterday for a short working visit.
He was welcomed at the Kuching International Airport (KIA) by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, Deputy Home Minister Masir Kujat and State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani.
The prime minister is scheduled to officially open the RM211 million Batang Sadong bridge—at 1.48km the longest bridge to cross a river in Malaysia—this morning before flying to Miri to launch eight more packages of the Pan Borneo Highway project at Eastwood Valley Country Club.
There, he is also expected to witness the signing of 10 work packages by contractors and then hand over the contract documents, letters of awards and letters of intent to them before flying to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, later.
