His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang DiPertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send congratulatory messages to His Imperial Majesty Akihito, Emperor of Japan and Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, as well as the government and people ofJapan, on the occasion of the 83rd birth anniversary of His Imperial Majesty Akihito.

In his message to the Emperor of Japan, His Majesty with members of the royal family along with the government and people of Brunei Darussalam join His Majesty in wishing His Imperial Majesty Akihito and all members of the imperial family a happy celebration.

Meanwhile, in a similar message to the Prime Minister of Japan, His Majesty expressed his great satisfaction that the long-standing relations between the two countries have continued to progress well, and looked forward to working closely with him in enhancing these valuable ties in the year ahead, both bilaterally and as partner in the region.

In ending the messages, His Majesty conveyed his kind regards and best wishes for good health and happiness to the Emperor of Japan and also best wishes to the Prime Minister of Japan.
