Unless it changes its current track, Super Typhoon Nina (international name: Nock-Ten)  will hit Metro Manila and surrounding areas as a Category 1 typhoon on Monday.

According to the Honolulu-based Joint Typhoon Warning Center, #Nina will bring moderate to heavy rain in the Philippine capital from the early hours of December 26, until late evening.

The typhoon is seen to continue heading west northwest over the next 72-hours and is forecast to make landfall over Catanduanes, traverse southern Luzon and pass over the south of Manila before exiting into the South China Sea.

Government weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), meanwhile, reported #NinaPH has maintained its strength as it was spotted 195 east of Virac, Catanduanes at 7:00 a.m. today, December 25, Sunday.

With moderate to heavy rain within its 500-kilometer diameter, the weather bureau said the typhoon has maximum sustained winds of up to 175 kph near the center and gusts reaching up to 215 kph. It is forecast to move west at 15 kph.

Tropical cyclone warning signals have been raised over several areas in Luzon and the Visayas.
