Life tip: if you go to the cinema on your own, make sure you don’t fall asleep.

One man did not heed this simple advice – and ended up waking up in an empty cinema in the middle of the night.

Despite being widely praised by critics, new Star Wars movie Rogue One did not do enough to keep this guy interested.

Instead, he awoke in the empty cinema in Cornelius, Oregon, KATU reported.

Washington County Sheriff’s deputies said the sleepy film fan tried to leave the building, but triggered a motion sensor alarm.

Panicking, he eventually called emergency services for help, and was rescued via an emergency exit.

Deputies believe staff at the cinema forgot to check for customers when they were closing up.
