BERAKAS, BRUNEI-MUARA

As part of efforts to promote coffee culture and the art of coffee-brewing, Kolej IGS (KIGS) of Brunei Darussalam - with support from The Coffee Bean Brunei (CB) - hosted a coffee session yesterday at The Coffee Bean at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas.

The event began with a special lecture on coffee by the Training Manager from PAR Company, Awang Mohamad Fairuz bin Ibrahim, who briefly explained about coffee culture and how to brew the perfect cup to the session's 30 participants.

The event continued with some latte art and best coffee-making competition using CB premium ingredients.

One of the organisers, Dayang Ummi Kalthum bin Awang Razali, Head of the KIGS team's Administration, Great Seven, clarified to the Bulletin why they chose to host the event: "As part of our event management module task, we decided to be different from our predecessors by hosting this coffee event.

"We also aimed to promote coffee culture here in Brunei while at the same time educating the public on the best ways to brew a good cup of coffee.

"We hope after the public's response for today's event, we can host more events like this in the future."
