Imams Urge Govt Servants to Be Prudent with Bonus Spending

As government servants have started receiving their annual bonus since December 27 and as students begin their first day of the new school year on January 3, 2017, religious authorities advised parents to avoid lavish spending.

 

 

Children could recycle school stationary items that are still in good condition and parents should save part of the bonus for the future well being of the family.

 

 

Parents should leave aside a portion of their bonus for their children's new school session such as to buy clothes and books, Imams said in the Friday sermon.

 

 

Waste spending should be avoided before it becomes a habit. Lavish spending could lead to debt. It is not wrong to spend but it must not be beyond one's capability and one should be moderate, they said.

 


Imams also advised the Ummah to be wise by prioritising their needs. Prudent spending is highly recommended in Islam.

 

 

One should also use their assets not only for worldly affairs but also for the days of the hereafter, and 
spend their money on beneficial matters that are blessed by Allah the Almighty.

 


"We should give part our cash to orphans, the underprivileged, the recent fire victims in Kg Lorong Dalam and Kg Pandai Besi 'A' in Kg Ayer," Imams added.

 

 

"It would ease the burden of the unfortunate people. Allah the Almighty will look at the sincerity of the donation and not how much was donated, for Allah the Almighty will multiply our wealth to make us capable of giving a better contribution. it
