Prosecutors yesterday charged a local man with trafficking Methylampehtamine, which carries a punishment ranging from five to 20 years' jail with five to 15 whippings.

No plea was taken from Daruan bin Herman towards the charge of trafficking 11.6323 grammes of meth in 15.6131 grammes of crystalline substances.

Magistrate Hajah Ervy Sufitriana binti Haji Abdul Rahman gave the defendant two weeks to consider his plea towards the charge, released him out on bail and fixed the case for further mention on January 19, 2017.

DPP Atiyyah Abas represented the Public Prosecutor in the case.
