41-Year-Old Indonesian Prisoned for Immigration Offence

An Indonesian woman was sentenced to four months' imprisonment after she pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court yesterday to overstaying in the country.
Rohayah binti Syamroni last entered Brunei on a visit pass on April 25, 2015 through Labu, Temburong immigration control post, according to the immigration department's records.
She was arrested at her residence in Kampong Salambigar close to midnight on January 4, 2017 by a team of immigration enforcement officers after she failed to produce her passport.
Further investigation revealed that she had been earning by working as a domestic helper on a freelance basis.
