The Islamic Studies Department (JPI) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs held its National Religious Programme yesterday at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAD).
With the theme of 'Berjimat Cermat Amalan Mulia', the programme highlighted the department's efforts in shaping students' futures by explaining to them the benefits of spending their expenses wisely in order for them to be able to appreciate and practise the culture of frugality (berjimat cermat) in their lives, as well as to produce an intelligent and progressive society that has adequate financial resources and brighter future.
The programme was aimed at putting into action the department's Strategic Plan by increasing the number of students participating in the co-curriculum activities at religious and Arabic schools.
The event began with a briefing session on 'Berjimat Cermat Amalan Mulia', followed with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and continued with the reading of Selawat and concluded with the recitation of 'Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam'.
The National Religious Programme, which was dedicated for religious and Arabic schools nationwide, was also carried out at Datu Ratna Haji Muhammad Jaafar Religious School in Kiarong, in which the facilitator for the programme was Awang Mohd Khairul Ilmi bin Haji Omar.
