Tropical depression “Auring” has made its fourth landfall over Ubay, Bohol Monday morning, January 9.

At 7:00 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) spotted #AuringPH 40 km southeast of Mactan, Cebu, which may bring moderate to heavy rains within its 300 km diameter.

The tropical depression has maximum sustained winds of up to 45 kph and gusts reaching up to 75 kph, placing several areas under tropical cyclone signal # 1.

TCWS # 1

Meanwhile, tropical warning signal number in Camotes Island, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte including Siargao Island, Dinagat Islands, and Misamis Oriental has now been lifted.

“Auring” is forecast to move west at 9 kph and may possibly make another landfall over Cebu at midday.

PAGASA warns residents of areas under TCWS 1 and the rest of Visayas against possible flash floods and landslides.

Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts have also been advised not to venture out over the eastern seaboard of Visayas and of Mindanao.
