The Government expects to achieve one point eight billion dollars in Gross Products revenues from primary resources industries in 2020 that represent an average 28 percent year to year increase from 2015.  The projected target is under the Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism for the years 2016-2020.

Under the strategic plan, the vision of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism is geared towards a rapid growth of primary resources and tourism industries products that can contribute to the country's economic growth so as to achieve the Wawasan Brunei 2035. The 2016-2020 Strategic Plans of the ministry and departments under it was launched this morning.

The plan was launched by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism.  Through the Strategic Plan, the mission of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism is to lead the growth of primary resources and tourism industries.  The aim is to be a significant contributor to the growth of the Gross Domestic Product, GDP by encouraging local and offshore investments, emphasising increased productivity, usage of high technology and focusing on the export market.  Inline with the vision and mission, four core areas are given priority, namely growth, productivity, export and sustainability.
