MoE Donate to 28 Fire Victims

The Department of Schools under the Ministry of Education (MoE) yesterday held a ceremony to hand over donations to 28 students from several schools that were victims of the recent fires at Kampong Sungai Asam, Kampong Pandai Besi and Kampong Lorong Dalam. The ceremony took place at Awang Semaun Secondary School.

 

The guest of honour who handed over the donations was Haji Mohd Sharifuddin bin Haji Mohd Salleh, Acting Senior Special Duties Officer (Corporate) at the Department of Schools under the Ministry of Education.

 

The donations comprising basic needs for school were contributions and collections from officers and staff of the Department of Schools as a sign of their concern and sympathy.

 

Also present during the event were the Head of Student Affairs at the Department of Schools, Hajah Jeriah binti Haji Duraman; Head of the Welfare Unit at the Department of Schools, Diris bin Haji Salleh; Head of the Counselling and Careers Unit at the Department of Schools, Saili bin Haji Chuchu; Head of the Miftaahun Najaah Unit at the Department of Schools, Haji Mustapha bin Haji Masri; officers from the Department of Schools, principals and teachers from schools involved, as well as parents and guardians of the students.

 

The 28 students are from Awang Semaun Secondary School, Sungai Kebun Primary School, Mentiri Primary School, Pintu Malim Primary School and Sultan Hassan Secondary School, Bangar, Temburong.
