Thailand Dominant in Brunei Open Fencing Championship

Thailand are currently ruling the roost at the Brunei Open Fencing Championship with two gold, a silver and a bronze at Hassanal Bolkiah Indoor Stadium in Berakas.

 


In second are Philippines' UST with a gold and three bronze medals.Compatriots ATENEO trail in third place with a gold and two bronze medals.Brunei-Muara have collected a silver and two bronze medals so far.

 

Yesterday also saw Malaysian Lim JinQuan edge Myanmar's Thiha in the final of the men's Individual Foil event.Brunei's Qawi Iskandar shared the bottom of the podium with Villanueva from Phillipines.

 


In the all-Thai women's Individual Epee final, Niemcharoen bowed out to Tiebpia Sasithorn.

 


Malaysian Laura Simon and Kanyapat Meechai from Thailand settled for bronze.

 


The championship continues today with the women's Team Foil and men's Team Sabree events.
