TUTONG

Religious schools and Arabic academic institutions in the country yesterday held a simultaneous statewide religious programme which aimed to increase the number of students taking co-curriculum activities as well as to enhance the effectiveness of co-curriculum programmes that strengthen their Aqidah' (religious way of life).

The programme was held at various schools in the country yesterday, and in the Tutong District the media visited Tanjong Maya Religious School to observe the event.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs said that the programme's aim was to generate a person that is knowledgeable and has a strong religious life. Balance and holistic teachings always emphasise on two aspects; namely, curriculum and co-curriculum activities.

The theme of the religious programme was 'Early School Preparation', which aimed to provide the students with an understanding related to early school preparations that stress on the need to always put effort in attaining success in their studies.

Students were told to prepare early and study this year's curriculum subjects as well as to divide their time wisely, from the onset, between studying and doing their co-curriculum activities.

The programme yesterday kicked off with lessons on early school preparation by respective teachers.
It then continued with the recitation of Ratib Al-Attas by all students and a Doa for early school preparations, ending with the Doa Allah Perliharakan Sultan'.
